Hands down the best croissants + pastries, ever (and we’ve been to Paris) 🙌🏼 My fiancé and I’s favorites so far are the Chocolate Elfroy and the Mixed Berry Bateau, but each new thing we try is delicious. We use a visit to Chaupain as a reward for a chore-filled weekend; yes it’s that’s good + worth every penny!

The croissants are buttery and flaky - rival any bakery in Europe. The sandwiches look amazing, but they are enormous! The coffee drinks are all glorious as well. Dog friendly outdoor seating. Friendly.

Spectacular food, service, atmosphere, neighborhood and plenty of parking because it's next to a grocery store. It was pretty busy this morning, Easter Sunday, but the line moved along quickly and the wait for our food was only around 10 minutes.

Atmosphere, bakery’s and coffee’s taste was perfect. There are siting area outside. Prices reasonable. But they have really good and quality foods. You should try shakshuka for breakfast and pistacho cruisant with coffee. Higly recommended.

This location of Chaupain Bakery offers a cozy and comfy cafe setting with indoor and outdoor seating options. The interior reflects a French boulangerie and is bright and welcoming. We tried many breakfast and pastry options and they were all presented impeccably and tasted glorious. The quiche portion sizes are generous, the seasonal pastry options are various and the coffee drinks are always fresh and tasty. We sometimes just drive here to pick up just bread, if we crave an at home breakfast with fresh bread. The entire staff is very knowledgeable, patient and helpful.

My wife have been coming to Chaupain for years. We used to always drive to the Laguna Nigel location.
So when they opened the Newport location we were excited. The baked goods are consistently amazing, fantastic croissants, baguettes, coffee cakes. I literally can’t stop in for just one thing.
The staff and owners are so nice and customer service focused.
I absolutely love this place.

Excellent wraps, sandwiches, croissants, the ingredients used are very fresh and tastes are well put together. Their Raspberry Chocolate Chip cake comes in a loaf just like a bread, extremely delicious, highly recommended to buy this as a takeawayto consume as breakfast or teabreak. We ordered the wraps, Sunrise Croissant and various pastries (refer to photos) for takeaways. To sum up almost everything is VERY Yummilicious !
Wraps/Sandwiches comes with the choice of roasted potatos or salad. Coffee are just ok so you may skip however they do offer ice water.
Cafe can be very crowded on weekends morning but be patient and you’ll find seats. The big plus point at this location is that they provide 2 clean and spacious restrooms for their patrons. The service at this location is much better than Laguna Niguel, special mention to Manager Hazel ! She is attentive to customers’ needs, remembers her customers (though this is our second visit post opening of this store). Hazel is a special GEM to keep and grow together with Chaupain !
Overall, highly recommended especially their croissants, pastries and tarts, probably DA BEST I’ve tried whilst in LA, gives Porto’s pastries a run for it’s monies ! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
🥐🍞❤️ Chaupain, will continue to visit each time we head back to LA!

It's been impossible to get their pastries at the farmers market. The lines are always obscene. Now I understand why. They have a wide variety of pastries and breads, even some spreads. The croque monsieur was good but the pastries outshined it. Come early, get yourself a loaf and some pastries with your coffee. You will be glad you came.

Insanely good. One of the best bakeries I’ve ever gone to. Their sandwiches and menu items are also fantastic. Extremely authentic French pastries that you can’t find easily in the OC. I simultaneously want everyone to go here to see how amazing it is, and I want to keep it local. This location used to be Whey Cafe (which I loved), but I’m super happy with the replacement! A must eat.
